Where does our hemp come from?
All our hemp products are made from 100% organically grown hemp, right here in the USA. (Out of Oregon to be more specific.) The plants undergo rigorous testing- as required by the state’s regulations, during the growing process in order to ensure federally compliant THC levels before and after the CBD oil is extracted from the cured plant.
In order to make Isolate based products, it then undergoes what is called remediation. Which means that the CBD molecule is then removed and isolated from the hemp extract that contains CBD, other cannabinoids, terpenes and plant particles resulting an 99%+ pure CBD.
What kind of lab testing has been done & why.
Once the CBD has been extracted and isolated, it undergoes further Full Panel Testing which is also known as a COA or Certificate of Analysis. It shows a breakdown of cannabinoid profile, terpene profile, heavy metals analysis, microbial contaminants, residual solvents and pesticides.
Only after I have examined this COA, do I formulate with the CBD isolate. After formulation, I then send the final solution/product off to the lab AGAIN for potency testing. (This is considered 3rd party testing-AKA Potency Testing)
Potency Testing is to ensure that the cannabinoid content -CBD in most cases- is what is stated on the packaging within a small margin. We try to keep it within a 5% margin of error, and for many reputable companies, it is within 10% margin. If we go outside of the stated concentration, it is typically slightly over, but still within the margin of error.
Salmon Oil (300 mg/oz.) The tinctures testing includes the pet CBD Oils as they are safe for human use too! Pet Treats are tested for their nutritional content as well (as seen on the packaging panel below).
Topicals Testing: Coming Soon!
Although topicals testing is not required, we are working towards ordering the 3rd party lab testing for them as we speak. Our high quality handcrafted topicals are made in small batches and all the ingredients are thoroughly researched and sustainably sourced.
Agricultural Hemp in the USA is tested per individual state regulations BUT extracted and finished CBD products do NOT require testing to be sold. Be careful and do your own due diligence when purchasing any CBD products. It is a currently unregulated market. Other countries also may not require ANY testing. This may result in heavy metals, molds, mildew, pesticides and or residual solvents entering the final, packaged product. This can make people very sick, especially with prolonged use. Lab testing is not cheap. If the product cost seems too good to be true, chances are it was sourced from an unregulated country, such as China and has not undergone testing.
